The UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Program is a multidisciplinary center aimed at providing the world's best sports-concussion care for youth athletes. We have relationships with various professional and collegiate athletic programs and also close partnerships with the U.S. Military and U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, through UCLA Operation Mend. In our two-year clinical and research fellowship, trainees will work closely with clinic attending neurologists and neuropsychologists.
The fellowship exposes trainees to pediatric sports related concussion, preseason sports neurology examination, sideline concussion management, mTBI military patients, and some more severe TBI patients. Under the mentorship of leading scientists, fellows will be expected to design and carry out a research project investigating neurotrauma, sports neurology, or another related topic of their choice.

THE POSITION:
The City Auditor’s Office is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to provide legal services to the Auditor’s Office. The Deputy General Counsel should be a well-rounded generalist or have significant experience in one or more subject matter areas on which the Auditor’s Office regularly requires legal advice. It is not necessary for candidates to have expertise in all areas where the Deputy General Counsel may be asked to provide legal advice; instead, a successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively research and quickly learn new areas of the law.
This is a part-time limited duration position for the primary purpose of assisting the Auditor’s Office’s General Counsel as the City prepares for the transition to a new form of government and an historic 2024 election cycle . The duration will be at least one year, with possibility for extending the term to two years; the hours will be 20-26 hours per week.

THE POSITION:
The City Auditor’s Office is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to provide legal services to the Auditor’s Office. The Deputy General Counsel should be a well-rounded generalist or have significant experience in one or more subject matter areas on which the Auditor’s Office regularly requires legal advice. It is not necessary for candidates to have expertise in all areas where the Deputy General Counsel may be asked to provide legal advice; instead, a successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively research and quickly learn new areas of the law.
This is a part-time limited duration position for the primary purpose of assisting the Auditor’s Office’s General Counsel as the City prepares for the transition to a new form of government and an historic 2024 election cycle . The duration will be at least one year, with possibility for extending the term to two years; the hours will be 20-26 hours per week.
As the sixth elected official in the City of Portland, the City Auditor is independent of the Mayor, City Council, and City offices and is accountable only to the public. The Auditor’s Office ensures open and accountable government by providing impartial reviews and investigations, access to public information, and services to City government and the public. It employs over 50 people across six divisions. The Auditor’s Office does this primarily through the following functions:
Audit Services: conducts performance audits of City bureaus, agencies, and programs, and oversees the financial audit of the City. This division also houses the City’s fraud hotline.
Ombudsman: responds to members of the public to resolve complaints about City services and practices and initiates investigations into systemic problems in the City government.
Elections: implements the Auditor’s Charter responsibility to supervise City elections, and oversees enforcement of the City’s campaign finance and lobbying regulations.
Council Clerk: administers City Council business, serves as the central repository for City contracts and Portland Policy Documents, and maintains City Charter and Code.
Archives & Records Management: operates the City of Portland Archives and Records Center, making City administrative and historical records accessible for research and inspection in accordance with public records laws.
Operations Management: serves as the City Auditor’s executive office, providing leadership, accountability, and support for all activities of the City Auditor’s Office, including human resources, contracts, and procurements.
Hearings: conducts impartial administrative hearings and renders decisions in Land Use Hearings, Code Hearings, Appeals of City Decisions, Towing Hearings, and other administrative matters.
The Deputy General Counsel reports directly to the Auditor’s Office’s General Counsel. The Deputy General Counsel will conduct legal and policy research; prepare a broad array of written documents; and advise on policy development and compliance.
Responsibilities of the Deputy General Counsel include:
Advising on subject matters such as: elections, campaign finance, lobbying/ethics, employment and labor, open meetings and public records laws, contracts and procurement, litigation, constitutional law issues, and general municipal law.
Assisting the General Counsel with projects related to the transition to a new form of government.
Assisting in developing legislative concepts and draft language.
Drafting code and administrative rules.
Advising on responses to public records.
Reviewing contracts and preparing contract templates.

Successful candidates will have:

The College of Engineering is seeking an Academic Advisor. This is a full-time/part-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The College of Engineering is seeking an Academic Advisor who will provide undergraduate students with advising support including but not limited to orientation, academic success strategies, career planning, course programming, and degree completion. The advisor monitors student progress and suggests corrective action when the student encounters academic difficulty. 70%- Direct advising to engineering students (undergraduate)Monitor academic progress of up to 300 engineering students. Assist students with academic program planning, course selection and registration, resource connections, and exploration of experiential learning opportunities.
Provide advising that helps students connect their skills, abilities, and interests with their academic and career goals. Provide intrusive advising for students experiencing academic difficulty.
20%- Administrative advising dutiesAdvisor will be assigned specific areas to coordinate related to advising and student services in a specialty area. (I.e.- assessment of advising, early alert, living learning communities, orientations, internships, international, etc.)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Application Solutions Architect role is within the Information Management Office at Fortune 500 Company . The team is responsible for Enterprise level design, consulting and support of varied data, data analytics, content management and AI technology. This role will help provide guidance and support for both existing and new applications. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, communicate easily with persons at all levels and help set and guide strategic focus as a senior level role in the team reporting to the technology director.
Technologies are varied and continue to evolve in this space hence a key trait required is the ability to multi-task between varied initiatives while learning key facets of varied technologies. It also requires some production support of existing processes and technologies while offering the opportunity to enhance and move those technologies and processes further for the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve on the Cloud Center of Excellence helping set direction for cloud in the organization.
Consult on existing technologies and help adopt new ones.
Remain up to date on emerging technology. Educate the team on these and when they should be leveraged.
Support existing systems and processes including Shared Data Platform in Azure, DataBricks and Hadoop.
Develop design paradigms to be used and scale at an enterprise level.
Collaborate with end users to identify needs, gaps and opportunities for improved data management and analytical solution delivery.
Collaborate with peers; mentoring team members to enhance skills and abilities; providing leadership as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related Engineering field is required.
Proven knowledge of solutions architecture is required
10+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, competitive organization driven by data and enabled by technology is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong technical competency and programming skills in large-scale systems using coding/querying languages including several of Python, R, C#, Java, PowerShell, Various ETL methodologies, T-SQL, and PL-SQL.
Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
Strong knowledge of cloud systems architecture preferfably in Azure.
Working knowledge of Hadoop, Kubernetes, Docker, Kerberos, and related technologies.
Working knowledge of streaming data, ingestion pipelines, and generalized data engineering practices is desired.
Knowledge supporting Big Data in the Azure cloud is preferred.
Effective communication (verbal/written) and leadership skills to foster enterprise influence on data-driven business decision-making
