The ideal candidate will have expertise in sculpture along with one of the following: jewelry/metalsmithing, ceramics and 3D design with the ability to manage and work across disciplines. This assignment also includes curriculum development, participation in the shared governance process through work in normal professional activities, committee work, and student activities. The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Pacific Coast campus or other college teaching locations. • An M.F.A and a minimum of two years of recent experience teaching 3D Foundations with expertise in sculpture, along with one of the following: jewelry/metalsmithing, ceramics and 3D design with the ability to manage and work across disciplines at the post-secondary level especially community college. • Active national and/or international exhibition/professional record in museums, galleries, and/or non-profit spaces. • Knowledge and expertise in a 3D lab/ fabrication environment and the ability to work with a variety of 3D materials, processes, equipment, technologies. • Experience working with adjunct faculty, classified staff, budgets, program planning, and writing curriculum. • Evidence of student success in teaching 3D disciplines and of participation in student success initiatives in post-secondary setting. • Ability to effectively work with students from diverse backgrounds and an understanding of the interconnectedness of socio-economic, cultural, environmental, and personal factors contributing to student success. • Demonstrated ability to self-reflect and respond to an evidenced-based assessment of student learning. • Evidence of innovation, scholarship, or leadership in the teaching of 3D disciplines. • Desire and demonstrated ability to participate actively in department, division, and college committees and in the shared governance of Long Beach City College. • Desire and willingness to take on leadership roles within the department and the institution.

Position description
The Department of City and Regional Planning (DCRP) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks a scholar whose primary research emphasis is on the use of emerging technologies in city planning or planning research, or the impacts of emerging technologies upon cities. Ideal candidates will apply methodological approaches described below to analyze rapidly evolving technologies within different domains such as climate change, housing, transportation, energy, land use, governance, environmental sustainability, economic development, or urban design. We are particularly interested in scholars using innovative quantitative methods based on data science, along with rapidly growing analytical areas such as artificial intelligence (including machine learning and deep learning). Anticipated start date is July 1st, 2024.
Desired methodological approaches include geospatial data acquisition, spatial analysis, data structures and management, model building, network analysis, geo-statistics, multivariate modeling, artificial intelligence, programming, design simulation, and cartographic visualization. We are also interested in candidates who integrate these methods in participatory planning or design processes; scholars who work on digital democracy approaches to urban planning and governance; and scholars whose work engages with rapidly changing technologies in order to anticipate and mitigate negative impacts such as inequality and social exclusion, algorithmic bias and racism, and cybersecurity risks.
Successful applicants will be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on urban data science and visualization, in addition to one or more core courses in the master's degree program or possible courses on other topics related to their research.

Position description
The Department of City and Regional Planning (DCRP) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks a scholar whose primary research emphasis is on the use of emerging technologies in city planning or planning research, or the impacts of emerging technologies upon cities. Ideal candidates will apply methodological approaches described below to analyze rapidly evolving technologies within different domains such as climate change, housing, transportation, energy, land use, governance, environmental sustainability, economic development, or urban design. We are particularly interested in scholars using innovative quantitative methods based on data science, along with rapidly growing analytical areas such as artificial intelligence (including machine learning and deep learning). Anticipated start date is July 1st, 2024.
Desired methodological approaches include geospatial data acquisition, spatial analysis, data structures and management, model building, network analysis, geo-statistics, multivariate modeling, artificial intelligence, programming, design simulation, and cartographic visualization. We are also interested in candidates who integrate these methods in participatory planning or design processes; scholars who work on digital democracy approaches to urban planning and governance; and scholars whose work engages with rapidly changing technologies in order to anticipate and mitigate negative impacts such as inequality and social exclusion, algorithmic bias and racism, and cybersecurity risks.
Successful applicants will be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on urban data science and visualization, in addition to one or more core courses in the master's degree program or possible courses on other topics related to their research.

The Department of Geography in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar with a focus on community geography to advance cartographic research and outreach. The Department of Geography has set a goal in its strategic plan to develop a community geographer position and this postdoctoral fellowship helps to advance that goal.
The successful candidate will work with Professors Anthony Robinson and Chris Fowler and will focus on serving as the creative director of the recently launched GeoGraphics Laboratory, a new department collaboratory for mapping-oriented research, education, and outreach that is housed in the Gould Center for Geographic Education and Outreach. We seek candidates who have a background in cartographic research and who have experience teaching geographic information science courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated a track record of published research in cartography and who have developed a professional portfolio of cartographic products made for external clients. This position will include a mixture of geographic information science teaching (3 courses on topics to be determined in consultation with the department head) in addition to continuing the development of our GeoGraphics Lab, including procurement of equipment, developing training materials for the use of new lab equipment, hosting workshops and outreach events, and leading cartographic design projects in consultation with faculty and graduate students to advance community geography efforts.
