About the Position:

Reporting to the dean of residence life and student housing (RLSH), the director of residence life provides leadership in developing and sustaining positive, academically focused residential communities and in successfully accomplishing administrative functions required in managing a university residence community within a residential commons (i.e. residential colleges) setting. Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for an Athletic Trainer with the School of Public Health. The position of Athletic Trainer is a salaried position within the Neuromechanics Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Murray. The Neuromechanics Laboratory provides concussion diagnostic testing and the athletic trainer will be a part of the clinical arm of our facility. This position is specifically for an outreach athletic trainer who will be working in and at a designated high school. The duties of the athletic trainer include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration, professional development and responsibility as specified in the Domains of the NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. The athletic trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents. The athletic trainer ensures that players participate only when physically able and that any physician instructions are understood and followed. The athletic trainer will coordinate with the Activities/Athletic Director to ensure that the athletic training room and all required events will be covered.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree and one year of related work experience.
Related Experience: Athletic training experience and/or medical assistant experience or related field.

Provides District personnel with supportive grant-related documentation including RFA summaries and grant outline templates. • Develops, writes, and submits grant proposals and application forms in accordance with funding opportunities and in collaboration with District's content experts. • Creates accurate, compliant budgets for grant proposals and ensures that proposed activities are allowable within District policies and procedures as well as compliant with state and federal regulations. • Establishes grant development timelines and coordinates with District personnel for timely development of project designs and relevant budgets. Ensure deadlines are met by establishing priorities and a calendar of grant development and management activities. • Reviews and/or approves revenues and expenditures and project status to ensure proper expenditures of grant funds. • Provide technical and resource assistance to District faculty, staff, management, and/or administrators on grant activities. • Maintains collaborative relationships with internal departments (i.e., Fiscal, Purchasing, Facilities, and Human Resources) relevant to grant development and implementation to ensure internal review processes are followed and completed in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Education and ExperienceRequires a bachelor's degree in education, behavioral or social sciences, business, or related field or the equivalent. Schedules and coordinates annual equipment testing for ladder, hose, extrication, SCBA, stretcher, cardiac monitors, etc. Provides ongoing training on equipment associated with bunker gear, SCBA's, stretchers, monitors, and various other Fire/EMS related equipment to ensure current and future employees are informed and up to date with equipment. Coordinates and participates in departmental multi-company, facility, and live fire training events to ensure proper use, decontamination, and documentation of Fire/EMS equipment. Establishes and maintains relationships with external suppliers, contractors, and service providers. Negotiates contracts and agreements for the purchase of supplies, services, and equipment. Assesses needs of residents. Provides and facilitates programming (including at least one large-scale signature event program yearly) in support of the Residential Commons tradition to promote a positive living and learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging. Advises commons council and student leaders.
Leads and/or serves on one or more RLSH (and potentially Student Affairs) committees. Meets regularly with supervisor and other RLSH staff.
Develops a relationship with FIR and supports their connection to the leadership team and programmatic efforts.
Serves as Conduct Officer for student conduct cases occurring in residential areas.
Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet RLSH and University goals.
Coordinates building operations. Assists with occupancy management, including but not limited to managing room and hall changes, check-in and check-out activity, etc. Monitors physical condition of assigned areas and reports work requests and desired facility improvements per established procedures.

Essential Functions:
Counsel and advise students in individual appointments through various mediums (in-person, virtual, phone, or email) on topics to prepare students in areas of career and professional development; Topics may include career and major exploration, job and internship search, resume/cover letter reviews, and interview preparation; Appointments will include both scheduled and drop-in appointments.
Effectively coordinate and lead career and professional development workshops, presentations, and informational sessions for the SMU campus community; These may be hosted at various locations on campus and/or virtually; This also includes the creation or management of any print and/or digital resources and event marketing material.
Act as liaison to university academic colleges, departments, or student groups, as well as offices through the Division of Student Affairs to expand student access to the career center, and maintain collaborative relationships to create effective programming for students.
Assist with supervision, mentorship, training, and development of Hegi undergraduate and graduate student employees and student leaders involved with Hegi office programs; Opportunities to directly supervise staff may be available.
Create career development programming as well a mentor and advise international students with their job search, resume building, and experiential learning opportunities. Collaborate with other departments and offices to learn about resource and opportunities for international students.
Serve as support or coordinator for Hegi departmental events (i.e. career fair, Hegi Career Leaders meetings, Homecoming events, etc.) which may include on-site career counseling, set up and take down assistance.
Additional duties as assigned or as needed to reach the overall department goals, which may include (1) evaluation and assessment, (2) involvement in partner office events and activities, (3) and enhancement of services.
Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Master's degree is required. A degree in Counseling, Higher Educations Administration or other related degree is preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a student facing setting in higher education is required.

Effectively coordinate and lead career and professional development workshops, presentations, and informational sessions for the SMU campus community; These may be hosted at various locations on campus and/or virtually; This also includes the creation or management of any print and/or digital resources and event marketing material.
Act as liaison to university academic colleges, departments, or student groups, as well as offices through the Division of Student Affairs to expand student access to the career center, and maintain collaborative relationships to create effective programming for students.
Assist with supervision, mentorship, training, and development of Hegi undergraduate and graduate student employees and student leaders involved with Hegi office programs; Opportunities to directly supervise staff may be available.
Create career development programming as well a mentor and advise international students with their job search, resume building, and experiential learning opportunities. Collaborate with other departments and offices to learn about resource and opportunities for international students.
Serve as support or coordinator for Hegi departmental events (i.e. career fair, Hegi Career Leaders meetings, Homecoming events, etc.) which may include on-site career counseling, set up and take down assistance.
Additional duties as assigned or as needed to reach the overall department goals, which may include (1) evaluation and assessment, (2) involvement in partner office events and activities, (3) and enhancement of services.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A Master's degree is required. A degree in Counseling, Higher Educations Administration or other related degree is preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a student facing setting in higher education is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

50% – Strategic Development
• Developing and implementing short- and long-term strategies and goals for all facilities and business operations functions within CoE. • Develop and implement objective, transparent, and efficient processes while working as the lead point between the college of engineering community and division of finance and administration staff. • Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential services or processes that may enhance and support facilities and operational functions. • Ensure compliance with university policy, and state and federal regulations and industry standards. • The Director works closely with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean to advise on efficiency and improvement of facilities and business operations. • Collaborates with the Dean, Senior Associate Dean, and College Financial Planning Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management and planning strategy aligned with the college’s mission, vision, and long-term goals. Identify and prioritize capital improvement projects and maintenance initiatives. • Communicates and coordinates (in collaboration with the Dean and Senior Associate Dean) with OSU University Facilities, Infrastructure & Operations units and college end-users. • Disseminates information about a wide range of subjects pertaining to facilities to college operations and office managers and school heads. • Lead the conversation with academic departments, administrative units, and student organizations within CoE to understand their facility needs and provide solutions that support their missions and objectives with support and from the Buildings Manager. • Evaluates and plans for new technologies and equipment to support current and future COE research and education needs, including site visits to other institutions and attendance at appropriate conferences, workshops, and training courses as needed.
30% – Supervision
• Oversees and manages facilities and their operational functions for the College of Engineering while leading a team to effectively support the College’s strategic goals as they relate to infrastructure, safety, spaces, and their safety. • Provides guidance and supervision of assigned student staff: hire and train, plan, approve and assign work; discipline and/or reward; prepare and sign performance appraisals and reviews; develop performance goals and assess performance through written evaluations; coaching and focusing as needed to obtain desired level of performance; discipline or effectively recommend discipline up to and including dismissal; respond to grievances; establishing and ensuring adherence to safety procedures; fostering an ethic for quality customer service; and encourage continuous procedural improvement.
15% – Operations Management & Maintenance
• Acts as primary liaison between COE and project partners such as OSU Capital Planning personnel, OSU Facilities Services personnel, City of Corvallis Fire Marshal, Pacific Power, or other contractors. Acts as the primary college liaison with the OSU Risk Officer. • Manages and supervises remodeling/renovation projects conducted by OSU Facility Services and outside contractors.
