Under general supervision, the Jr. Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for operational support, design, programming and deployment of architectural aspects of disparate public/private cloud environments (e.g. AWS, MS Azure, Office 365, etc.). The incumbent works with infrastructure and application teams identifying, evaluating, and implementing cloud migration solutions, as well as any associated migrations; designs and transforms monolithic applications into a modern server-less cloud-native architecture; designs and builds cloud native applications from the ground up partnering with business and IT stakeholders; collaborates with key stakeholders and application teams in decision making, resolving technical issues; contributes to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks prioritizing infrastructure automation and configuration management; assists in research and evaluation of emerging cloud technology, industry, and market trends; responds to client requests in timely manner and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, as needed; and performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering or a job-related field. Additional qualifying technical training and applied experience may be substituted for required education. Six months of full-time, progressively field-related experience. Experience working with application monitoring and performance tools and automation/configuration management using Ansible desired.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux), and Windows operating systems. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in a highly available, resilient technology service environment. Ability and specialized skills to: assist in diagnosing hardware and software problems; organize projects and work within timeframes and deadlines; continue to acquire knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks; effectively present ideas, explain problems, and recommend solutions in writing and orally; back decisions with research, articulating several options, the pros and cons for each and a recommendation; react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration. Knowledge of agile Methodologies and working on Agile teams and DevOps preferred.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The salary range for this classification is: $3470 - $6681 per month.
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3470 - $5000, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
