Job Description
The Sanford Center for Aging at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine invites applications for the role of Program Coordinator, Senior Outreach Services (SOS). This grant-funded program is part of Community Services and provides volunteer-based companionship to Washoe County elders living at home who are lonely, isolated and looking for a friend. The SOS Coordinator will prioritize client and volunteer service and identify community resources to address client needs; administer in-home client assessments; assist the Director to identify and implement quality improvements; successfully match clients with trained volunteers; conduct outreach to targeted populations; measure, analyze and report on grant output goals; and maintain accurate client and volunteer data. This position reports to the Director of Community Services.

The ideal candidate in this role will share our mission to serve, and demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and active listening communication skills, management of distinct priorities on differing timelines, adaptability and an eye for detail and organization. A strong sense of self and respect for the boundaries and abilities of others are key.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two years of related professional experience OR
Master's Degree and one year of related professional work experience
Related Experience: Working with older adults in home settings
Certification and Licensure: Nevada Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in social work, human services, public health or related field • Experience working with/managing volunteers • Experience administering needs assessments • Experience connecting individuals with community resources

Hiring Range: $104,475.00 - $167,146.00 Work Day/Hours: 8:00 - 4:30 M - F The City of Durham, NC seeks an innovative and knowledgeable water resource professional to serve as one of its Assistant Directors for the Department of Water Management (DWM). Joining a diverse community, the Assistant Director is one who values and embodies diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) – an empathetic leader with experience ensuring the integration of DEI practices in departmental policies, procedures, and interactions. The Assistant Director will navigate the demands and increase of expectations on the Water Management department and uphold high expectations and accountability of quality customer service delivery. The department desires a visionary leader with the natural ability to anticipate and forecast the needs of his/her supervisor, peers and other stakeholders and be proactive in meeting these needs. The Assistant Director will demonstrate outstanding project management competencies, lead with a customer service focus, and effectively coordinate with all internal departments in the city, external stakeholders, etc. for all projects including planning and funding the renewal and replacement of the City’s aging water/wastewater infrastructure and the DWM’s asset management program.
The Water Management Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Durham's water supply, water treatment and water reclamation (wastewater treatment) facilities, the collection and distribution systems (including meter reading), and customer billing services. With a budget of $60 million, and over 380 water professionals, the department delivers pure, clean drinking water to the people of Durham 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Quick response teams fix water main breaks, sewer overflows, and other emergencies. DWM also treats used water at reclamation facilities before safely returning it to the environment.
One hallmark of Durham’s Department of Water Management is the University of Water Management staff development program. This position will be a champion and advocate of this program. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as the department liaison on the Durham Environmental Affairs Board.
Overseeing a budget of $11M and several divisions with 67 staff members, this Assistant Director will be one of three Assistant Directors for the Department of Water Management. The Assistant Directors work collaboratively to provide leadership, direction, and support for Water Resources Planning (including water efficiency and conservation), Laboratory, Industrial Waste Control, Utility Finance and Customer Billing Services, and administrative support for the Department of Water Management. The Assistant Director oversees the department’s administration division operations including direct supervision of the administrative staff and works with 7-8 direct reports who oversee division operations including customer billing. This Assistant Director will have the most outward facing responsibilities with the oversight of customer billing, public communications, water conservation, and industrial pretreatment.
The Assistant Director will have the exciting opportunity to work with staff, consultants, external agencies, stakeholders, and the public to develop and implement effective water resource management plans for the City of Durham. The Assistant Director will demonstrate outstanding project management competencies, lead with a customer service focus, and effectively coordinate with all internal departments in the city, external stakeholders, etc. for all projects including planning and funding the renewal and replacement of the City’s aging water/wastewater infrastructure and the DWM’s asset management program.
The Water Management Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Durham's water supply, water treatment and water reclamation (wastewater treatment) facilities, the collection and distribution systems (including meter reading), and customer billing services. With a budget of $60 million, and over 380 water professionals, the department delivers pure, clean drinking water to the people of Durham 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Quick response teams fix water main breaks, sewer overflows, and other emergencies. DWM also treats used water at reclamation facilities before safely returning it to the environment.
One hallmark of Durham’s Department of Water Management is the University of Water Management staff development program. This position will be a champion and advocate of this program. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as the department liaison on the Durham Environmental Affairs Board.
Overseeing a budget of $11M and several divisions with 67 staff members, this Assistant Director will be one of three Assistant Directors for the Department of Water Management. The Assistant Directors work collaboratively to provide leadership, direction, and support for Water Resources Planning (including water efficiency and conservation), Laboratory, Industrial Waste Control, Utility Finance and Customer Billing Services, and administrative support for the Department of Water Management. The Assistant Director oversees the department’s administration division operations including direct supervision of the administrative staff and works with 7-8 direct reports who oversee division operations including customer billing. Essential Functions
Environmental Health & Safety is a consulting and compliance organization within and for the university. We ensure that our university is a safe place for education, research, extracurricular activities, and for some, a place to live. The Safety Specialist II will assist the director in developing, implementing, managing, and documenting compliance with state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and codes in safety, health, and environmental protection. We investigate accidents. The risk management functions also reside in the department. We will integrate with all aspects and functions of the University to provide a safe, healthy learning and working environment for our students, faculty, staff, and guests. This is a varied and fast-paced job that will provide a broad spectrum of all of these fields.
• Environmental compliance includes compliance with the Clean Water Act, our MS4 program operation. Proper waste management in compliance with RCRA, SARA title IV, for solid, hazardous, biomedical, and universal waste generated by campus operation or research. Clean Air Act Title V compliance. Mold, lead, and asbestos management. DOT and IAUDA shipping compliance of dangerous goods. Hazardous spill cleanup.
• Occupational safety duties from risk assessments and job hazard analysis, PPE, accident investigation to remediation of conditions and workers compensation across all aspects of the University. To develop plans, procedures, policy, guidelines, training and compliance standards to assist student, faculty and staff. Oversight of the occupational medical operations and surveillance.
• Fire life safety inspection oversight and testing of systems, buildings, events, and wildfire risks.
• Lab Safety includes chemical safety, biological safety, waste management, laser safety, radiation safety, and IACUC compliance.

Environmental Health & Safety is a consulting and compliance organization within and for the university. Mold, lead, and asbestos management. DOT and IAUDA shipping compliance of dangerous goods. Hazardous spill cleanup.
• Occupational safety duties from risk assessments and job hazard analysis, PPE, accident investigation to remediation of conditions and workers compensation across all aspects of the University. To develop plans, procedures, policy, guidelines, training and compliance standards to assist student, faculty and staff. Oversight of the occupational medical operations and surveillance.
• Fire life safety inspection oversight and testing of systems, buildings, events, and wildfire risks.
• Lab Safety includes chemical safety, biological safety, waste management, laser safety, radiation safety, and IACUC compliance.
• Risk management - accident investigation, filing insurance, certificate of insurance tracking, Coordinating and obtaining insurance coverage for events and activities.

Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
• Ensures the biological safety of working environments and/or research projects through environmental monitoring, surveying, and the inspection of University buildings and research facilities. Collaborates with the Biological Safety Officer in ensuring that all delegated areas of responsibility remain in full compliance with federal and state regulations, rules, guidelines, as well as University and other local policies. Assists with review of research protocols.
• Performs inspections, investigations, sampling, and data analysis to confirm or ascertain the level of safety and protection that exists in university work areas, surrounding environments, and research projects. Utilizes these results to determine and then implement necessary control measures to ensure that any associated risks are adequately addressed consistent with industry standards.
• Confirms the inspection and certification of biological safety cabinets and testing of research autoclaves. Coordinates campus-wide biohazardous waste pick up, assists with Hazardous Materials and advisor for other department programs relating to biological safety including assists with procedures for animal vertebrate research and IACUC protocols.
• Assists in the development and delivery of formal and on-the-job training, as needed, to ensure regulatory compliance and continued professional development. Provides response, oversight, or training to deal with unplanned occurrences such as hazardous spills, safety system failures, fires, or air quality complaints. Maintains competency in the use of all specialized instrumentation, computer programs, and databases required to effectively administer program components.
• Partners with other University personnel in order to apply relevant expert knowledge and specialized resources effectively in addressing campus safety and health concerns. Assists with planning and presenting biological safety programs to educate the University community on environmental health and safety issues.
• Assists with the management of regulated materials and accountability programs. Ensures proper storage and disposal of these materials. Must be able to lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds and be able to move heavier materials using handling equipment or assistance. Completes appropriate inspection reports, interprets results and maintains records.
• Assists the EH&S Director in serving as liaison between the University and associated regulatory agencies on environmental or health and safety issues in the Director's absence, as required.
• Remains constantly vigilant to changes or advances that may have an impact on EH&S-associated programs through proactive methods such as audits, research, interactions with colleagues at related institutions, and by attending relevant professional courses or society meetings. Immediately reports any findings that may affect University programs to supervisors and assists in determining and implementing necessary policy changes to ensure best practices are realized.
• Provides assistance as required by FGCU administration during emergency conditions and incidents.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from and accredited institution in Emergency Management, Public Administrations, Business Administration, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Services, or closely related field.

Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
• Ensures the biological safety of working environments and/or research projects through environmental monitoring, surveying, and the inspection of University buildings and research facilities. Collaborates with the Biological Safety Officer in ensuring that all delegated areas of responsibility remain in full compliance with federal and state regulations, rules, guidelines, as well as University and other local policies. Assists with review of research protocols.
• Performs inspections, investigations, sampling, and data analysis to confirm or ascertain the level of safety and protection that exists in university work areas, surrounding environments, and research projects. Utilizes these results to determine and then implement necessary control measures to ensure that any associated risks are adequately addressed consistent with industry standards.
• Confirms the inspection and certification of biological safety cabinets and testing of research autoclaves. Coordinates campus-wide biohazardous waste pick up, assists with Hazardous Materials and advisor for other department programs relating to biological safety including assists with procedures for animal vertebrate research and IACUC protocols.
• Assists in the development and delivery of formal and on-the-job training, as needed, to ensure regulatory compliance and continued professional development. Provides response, oversight, or training to deal with unplanned occurrences such as hazardous spills, safety system failures, fires, or air quality complaints. Maintains competency in the use of all specialized instrumentation, computer programs, and databases required to effectively administer program components.
• Partners with other University personnel in order to apply relevant expert knowledge and specialized resources effectively in addressing campus safety and health concerns. Assists with planning and presenting biological safety programs to educate the University community on environmental health and safety issues.
• Assists with the management of regulated materials and accountability programs. Ensures proper storage and disposal of these materials. Must be able to lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds and be able to move heavier materials using handling equipment or assistance. Completes appropriate inspection reports, interprets results and maintains records.
• Assists the EH&S Director in serving as liaison between the University and associated regulatory agencies on environmental or health and safety issues in the Director's absence, as required.
• Remains constantly vigilant to changes or advances that may have an impact on EH&S-associated programs through proactive methods such as audits, research, interactions with colleagues at related institutions, and by attending relevant professional courses or society meetings. Immediately reports any findings that may affect University programs to supervisors and assists in determining and implementing necessary policy changes to ensure best practices are realized.
• Provides assistance as required by FGCU administration during emergency conditions and incidents.

Required Qualifications:
