The Associate Director, Financial Business Partner, Neurology in close partnership with financial and business leadership supports the Company’s products and portfolio by providing expertise in the areas of financial control, planning and analysis, and portfolio/brand performance management, including budgeting, forecasting/demand planning and sales and investment analysis. Key member of the Neurology Leadership Team involved in cross-functional collaboration with all departments and external resources to ensure proper expense recognition and compliance with internal controls. Ensures adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Serve as key member of the Neurology Leadership Team working closely with the Business Head and Brand Lead for Lemborexant and Belviq, including responsibility for Sales and Marketing to drive overall strategy and commercial success. This includes the financial data, guidance and insights for in-line brands and commercial brand launches.

Manage direct reports by providing connection to mission, clarity of expectations and regular coaching and feedback to optimize performance. Develop and execute robust development plans ensuring sustainable finance talent pipeline.

Responsible for all Financial Planning (annual BP and quarterly LEs), Analysis (PV mix, ad hoc) and Reporting processes for P&L lines, including Sales, Brand Promotion, Sales Force expenses, and GtN.

Evaluate evolving risks & opportunities that may impact the Brand’s performance vs. plan, while remaining current on Brand/market demand trends, product inventory, and other relevant analyses/data.

Develop monthly reporting package for commercial management and brand teams. Prepares profit and loss forecasts; prepares, analyzes and distributes variance analysis reports focusing on key drivers to help articulate the “story” behind the numbers. Owns the revenue picture by product from market entry (review of distributor contracts and key terms) through to revenue recognition (working with the wider finance team to ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied).

Establish robust processes to manage the commercial by collaborating with rest of FP&A Team, trade, market access, analytics and forecasting.

Test & challenge assumptions underlying financial plans and ensure transparency of those assumptions; establishes and maintains insightful sales reports/dashboard for variance, royalty, rebate program, strategic analyses and management review.

Establish process and methodologies for ongoing investment decision and resource allocation while focusing on efficient use of resources. Identify and support sales protection plans, validate opportunities, gain management support, and ensure post-program ROI measurement and reporting.

Support production planning and S&OP processes, provide launch support analysis.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance is required. MBA is desirable. Pharmaceutical or Life Science Industry required.

10+ years of financial experience with 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a Commercial finance role with a demonstrated high-level knowledge of Finance.

Brand launch experience required.

Excellent financial analysis skills, advanced modeling skills and strong business acumen are necessary to identify, present, and challenge key business assumptions; strong working knowledge of budgeting and forecast.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required in order to effectively interact and influence all levels of management.

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP

Experience with SAP ECC6.0, ehp6 or later preferred

Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and disparate teams across functions to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Individual should demonstrate leadership capabilities with proven people management skills.
