Job Description


*        Serves as the designated Division of Information Technology (DIT)

Field Office Representative (FOR) for the Chief Information Officer

Organization (CIOO) to implement the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and to

coordinate interface with divisions in Field Offices on DIT IT services

including the implementation of major IT improvements, renovations, and

service implementations within FDIC.

*        Monitors the operation and functions of the local area networks

(LAN) within the Field Offices, and the integration with the Regional Office

networks and other telecommunications systems.


*        Supports and implements hardware, software and network configuration

of the client server environment of all systems and has functional and

operational responsibility for all IT equipment within the Field Office(s).


*        Prepares and coordinates operational specifications and procedures

for the implementation of systems at the Field Office which includes IT

improvements, renovations, and service implementations. Specifies the

hierarchical structure and systems configuration interface plans for

deployed systems.


Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify at the CG-13 level:  Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues related to Windows Operating System and MS Office Suite; remote access capabilities; repairing laptops, desktops, and printers; imaging of workstations; and networking consisting of configuring and troubleshooting workstations to connect to wired and wireless networks.

In addition to the minimum qualification requirements listed above, you must also have IT-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

$108,051 to $180,115 per year
