Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time exempt Economic and Community Development Marketing and Communications Manager (MCM). Economic & Community Development is a self-support department of Clark College that serves over 8,000 students a year. This new position will report to the Vice President of Economic & Community Development.  The Marketing and Communications Manager will develop, implement and oversee marketing and communications programs that effectively build awareness and promote ECD programming and services to the business and residential communities of Southwest Washington. The MCM will provide a broad range of communications and marketing support tasks while managing the department’s master marketing plan including: creation and development of print and online advertising, email marketing, web site management, content development, collateral marketing  materials and social media.  This position will work closely with other members of the ECD team and the Clark College Communications and Marketing department to create strategies that increases the awareness of ECD within the community.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  Manage an integrated marketing strategy for the department.  Maintain a cohesive brand image and message across all marketing platforms.  Lead digital and online marketing efforts to drive traffic to the website and social media channels to increase visibility.  Analyze effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communication programs.  Collaborate with ECD staff in the promotion of courses, events and services.   Work with Clark webmaster/developer to optimize ECD online website experience for students.  Create and edit promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications and adherence to brand guidelines.  Manage vendor relationships.  Coordinate joint printings and news releases with the college Communications and Marketing department.   Manage cost and effectiveness of marketing spending.  Perform other related duties as assigned.  Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.  Provide leadership in accordance with the Vision, Values, and Core themes established by the college to achieve mission fulfillment.
 
Minimum Qualifications:  Five years of proven experience in developing successful marketing programs and communication strategies.  Familiarity with HTML, Adobe Creative Design Software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office applications.  Excellent written and verbal communications.  Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations.   Strong organizational skills.  Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.   Resourcefulness and creativity in solving problems.

 
 Ability to collaborate within a team to work with internal and external partners.  Energetic self-starter that can work independently or as a collaborative team member.  Results oriented.  Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.  An understanding of business practices and basic financial acumen.
 
 
Salary Statement: $50,221 annually Benefits include vacation/ sick leave; medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance; retirement; and tuition waiver.
