Job Description

The Department of Radiology is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation providing Imaging Services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients.


The CT Lead Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of CT Services.
--Responsible for the protocols, dose reduction, and image quality of the CT Department Scanners.
--Responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data.
--Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of CT equipment, including a generator, patient table, control console and computer and perform CT Technologist duties. 
--Designated as an advanced user in PACS (Stentor) and Radiology Information System.
--Responsible to train new staff as well as educate all staff about new technologies. 
--Maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturers' specifications, reporting all problems appropriately.
--The CT Lead Technologist will comply and adhere to department protocols, UCDHS Policies and Procedures, Department of Radiology Policies and Procedures and other applicable work rules and regulations. 
--Must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality. Duties will be performed independently and under general supervision.
--Lead CT Technologist may be required to oversee provision of CT services and staffing coverage in absence of the supervisor. 
--Lead CT Technologist may perform duties in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center and/or satellite facilities throughout UCD's Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management.


REQUIRED
--Minimum of 2 years of CT experience.
--Advanced knowledge of CT Configurations to input and change protocols as directed.
--Advanced knowledge/experience in EPIC, PACS (Stentor) and Radiology Information System.
--Extensive CT technologist experience.
--CRT Certification, CA Fluoroscopic permit and CPR required.
--ARRT (CT) preferred within six months of hire.
PREFERRED
 --Experience performing similar duties within a level one trauma center desired.
--Demonstrated lead experience within a health care/medical setting and similar duties.
--I.V. Certification and Contrast Administration experience preferred.
