The communications and marketing manager is responsible for working closely with the marketing and communications team to develop and implement our annual BoardSource communications calendar. The manager plays a key role in developing content for our social media, website, marketing, and communication efforts. This individual will manage all aspects of our electronic communications via Hubspot to implement our comprehensive communication strategy to educate and market our various products, services, and leadership initiatives with the goal of engaging our community and generating sales and registrations. The implementation of this strategy includes creating, A/B testing, deploying, tracking, and reporting metrics related to marketing efforts. The manager is also responsible for providing copyediting support to other content developers and project managing our publications development and production process. This process includes creating production schedules and managing the manuscript review and revision process, as well as working with our creative services director and director of communications to ensure all materials reflect BoardSource’s recommended governance practices and meet BoardSources’ editorial and branding styles and standards.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer and copyeditor in a variety of communication and marketing mediums, such as website, blogs, social media, electronic communications, articles, newsletters, and publications with at least three years of experience in content development. Experience working with HubSpot, Salesforce, and WordPress is desirable. Strong project management skills, ideally with experience managing a publications process, are necessary for this position. Individuals must be highly organized with a keen attention to detail and be able to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team. Candidates must have a passion for the nonprofit sector; nonprofit experience is preferred.
