Assistant or Associate Professor of Nutrition and Genetic Epidemiology
The Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) seeks candidates for the position of assistant or associate professor in the area of genetic epidemiology as applied to nutrition. This is a tenure-ladder position, with the academic rank to be determined in accordance with the successful candidate's experience and productivity.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a leading research program related to the role of nutritional factors and genetic susceptibility in the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other disorders, as well as the development of methods for testing gene-environment interactions. The search committee welcomes applications from individuals with a broad range of relevant scholarship and experience in nutritional and genetic epidemiologic studies. Applicants to this position should hold a doctoral degree in nutrition, epidemiology, genetics, or in another relevant area of public health, or will have a medical degree and formal training in public health. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program on nutritional and genetic epidemiology and to participate in collaborative research activities. S/he will also be responsible for teaching and student supervision, which will encompass the mentoring of doctoral students in dissertation research.
