Under the direction of the associate vice president of workforce development and community education, the corrections education director oversees Portland Community College (PCC) work-based education and ABE/GED programming at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility and Columbia River Correctional Institute.
The director acts as a liaison between the PCC corrections education programs and staff and the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC). The education director meets regularly with state DOC staff and other correctional state directors to address policies, procedures, and issues involving education in the correctional setting. The position provides leadership to the community and business groups that offer enhanced educational programming to the student inmates. Additionally, the director supports the transition of former offenders to PCC programs and services offered at college campuses and centers.
This position is located at a correctional facility; a criminal background check is imperative.
