The Detroit Land Bank Authority (DLBA) is a land bank: a quasi-governmental entity dedicated to returning vacant, abandoned, and foreclosed property within the City of Detroit back to a productive reuse. The Detroit Land Bank Authority provides the technical and development assistance necessary for establishing neighborhood redevelopment programs in conjunction with its partners and community stakeholders. Working in concert with the City of Detroit’s Mayor, City Council, Planning and Development Department, residents, businesses and community development organizations, the DLBA serves as the primary neighborhood redevelopment authority in the City of Detroit. Honoring the work and goals that each of the key stakeholders have in redeveloping the city, the DLBA works to bring these visions to fruition through creative deal structuring, economic incentive leveraging, its ability to co-develop, land assemblage, and bringing patient capital to the projects. The DLBA is unmatched in its fit as neighborhood redevelopment catalyst thanks to the unique set of tools it has in accordance to the State of Michigan Public Act 258, commonly referred to as the Land Bank Fast Track Act of 2003.
