IT Support Technician
This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment.
The IT Support Technician is a member of the IT Team providing direct technology support to our staff. This includes day-to-day troubleshooting, hardware deployment and maintenance, and application support for our church management system. This role helps meet the technology needs of Highland Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC) across all locations and campuses (herein “The Church”) to facilitate the church’s achievement of its vision, mission, and values.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Campus: Mockingbird (supporting all campuses; regular travel between campuses is required)
Working Hours: This is a full-time position working a minimum of 36 hours per week. Full-time employees are eligible for the Church’s complete benefits package, including health insurance premiums fully paid by the Church for the employee.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break), plus alternating weekend coverage shared among IT staff:
- Friday weeks: Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sunday weeks: Sunday, 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM (no Friday shift that week)
Staff alternate between Friday and Sunday coverage; you will work one or the other each week, not both. This schedule totals a minimum of 36 hours per week.
During certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff are asked to support and serve during religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter. Alternating Sunday work is a standing requirement of this position.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide IT support to staff on macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS devices
- Image, configure, and deploy new hardware to users, including iPads managed through Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager
- Ensure technology is accessible and well maintained, including system updates and regular physical maintenance
- Travel between campuses to provide on-site support as needed
- Provide application support for the Touchpoint Church Management System
- Assist with basic audio/visual (AV) equipment support for meetings, classrooms, and events
- Train users on common IT needs and best practices
- Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of IT support, help desk, or related experience preferred; we are willing to train the right candidate on our specific systems
- CompTIA A+ certification (or equivalent knowledge) preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between campuses
- Strong customer service skills and comfort supporting users of all technical skill levels
Preferred Technical Experience:
- macOS and Windows 11
- ChromeOS
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
- Apple device management (Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, Apple Configurator)
- TouchPoint Church Management Software
- Basic networking concepts
- Basic AV/Classroom systems support
- Asana Project Management
