Our Purpose

The Ashford team is growing, and we are looking for our next Ashfordian! We're looking for a Director of Marketing who pairs multifamily marketing expertise with sharp analytical judgment and a genuine passion for developing people. In this role, you'll elevate our brand, help every community stand out, generate quality leads, deepen resident engagement, and show the measurable impact of our marketing investments across Texas.

Who is Ashford Communities?

At Ashford Communities, we are committed to creating a place to belong and delivering superior resident experiences. Recognized as a Best and Brightest Company to Work For, we invest in our people, communities, and continuous improvement. If you share our commitment to accountability, creativity, and exceptional resident experiences, you'll feel right at home here.

Position Overview

As Director of Marketing, you'll lead portfolio-wide marketing strategy, demand generation, digital channels, Internet Listing Services (ILS), resident referrals, reputation management, property positioning, and marketing operations across Ashford Communities’ Texas multifamily portfolio. You'll own marketing planning, budget allocation, performance measurement, vendor relationships, and team development. Working closely with Operations and property leadership, you'll turn market intelligence and community needs into targeted, scalable, and cost-effective marketing programs. Because you'll report directly to the President, you'll have the visibility and influence to shape how Ashford goes to market.

What You'll Do

- Lead monthly property-level marketing plans aligned with occupancy needs, market conditions, resident profiles, and community positioning.

- Own digital marketing, search, paid media, social channels, ILS, property websites, online listings, and campaign execution; maintain accuracy and brand consistency across channels.

- Direct resident referral, retention-oriented communications, community outreach, and reputation management programs that build trust and cost-effective demand.

- Monitor competitive properties, submarket trends, pricing context, audience behavior, and property performance to recommend differentiated marketing strategies.

- Build marketing attribution and reporting that connects spend to qualified inquiries, applications, new resident acquisition, channel efficiency, and cost per acquisition.

- Partner with Operations, property managers, and executive leaders to diagnose marketing challenges versus property condition, pricing, service, or execution constraints.

- Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, vendor contracts, agency performance, procurement, and return on investment; recommend investments to expand, test, reduce, or discontinue.

- Create and enforce brand, creative, photography, signage, content, accessibility, and messaging standards while preserving individual community identity.

- Lead, coach, and develop marketing employees; establish clear priorities, workflows, service standards, and performance accountability.

- Use AI, automation, templates, and technology responsibly to improve speed, consistency, reporting quality, and team capacity.

- Ensure marketing materials and campaigns comply with applicable fair housing, advertising, privacy, and brand requirements in coordination with appropriate partners.

- Present concise executive dashboards, property-level insights, campaign results, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

How You'll Thrive Here

- Strategic and commercial judgment

- Data-driven decision-making and accountability

- Collaborative leadership and talent development

- Resident-centered creativity and brand stewardship

- Adaptability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
