The Department of Pediatrics and Mattel Children's Hospital of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seeks faculty members at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Professor levels to join the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine in the Health Sciences series (rank commensurate with academic qualifications). Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Adolescent Medicine and board certified in Pediatrics, Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Med-Peds.
The clinical duties involve primarily outpatient care for youth up to age 26 years and includes 10% to 20% effort for inpatient care at our Eating Disorder Programs, Medical Stabilization Program (MSP) at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, where incumbent will be part of our rotating faculty group covering the MSP on weekends and holidays. The incumbents will have the opportunity to build new areas in clinical services and/or research programs according to their specific interests and expertise, with administrative time allotted. These include but not necessarily limited to reproductive health care, transgender care, and substance abuse. This position includes creative work such as research in the incumbents' interest area that will lead to academic promotion. Our current research teams in our division focus on reproductive health care, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal microbiome and inflammation, and eating disorders. Our department also includes a robust health services research group with emphasis on delivery of care, racial justice, health care disparities, immigrant health, school education, and multi-systems approaches to health care.
The incumbents will also have an important role in medical education for Adolescent Medicine fellows, residents (from pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine) and medical students. The overall percent effort in clinical care, research and education will be negotiable based on funding and the needs of the Department.
The David Geffen School of Medicine provides ample opportunities for professional development as well as education and research. The DGSOM has recently redesigned the medical student curriculum such that there are new roles for educators taking students for longitudinal teaching in both clinical and research settings. The Department of Pediatrics has over 30 Divisions and Programs. The Department is the home of the Children's Discovery & Innovation (CDI) Institute which promotes research, funding, and training activities related to improving children's health and health care, spanning from research discoveries in basic science, through translation to clinical care, and implementation in community practice. The Opportunity
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and management of the activities and staff in the Department of Information Technology Services (ITS). The CIO leads the planning and delivery of comprehensive county-wide information technology programs and provides expert advice and counsel to Washington County departments and the County Administrative Office.
Reporting to an Assistant County Administrator, the CIO provides administrative direction over the ITS department and its systems, programs and services. The CIO prepares and administers the ITS budget, monitoring midyear adjustments and participating in forecasting additional funding needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies. Specifically, the CIO manages, plans, directs and organizes the ITS department divisions including Enterprise Applications and Systems, Infrastructure and Operations, Information Security and the Project Management Office.
The CIO provides leadership to six direct reports including the Deputy CIO, Enterprise Systems Division Manager, Infrastructure and Operations Division Manager, Information Security Officer, Service IT Architect and Project Management and Administration Division Manager. This position develops departmental goals and objectives and effectively collaborates with the ITS leadership team to develop work plans, assign activities and monitor the progress of projects and initiatives including those by outsourced service providers. Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the supervision and administration of a large enterprise computing environment with a least four years in a management capacity. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning specific to information technology and services is essential as is advanced knowledge of modern IT practices, operations and security procedures. Strong fiscal management coupled with project management and program planning experience are required. The ability to exercise professional judgment and apply it to complex, multi-disciplinary and sensitive issues is essential. An interest in public service coupled with a broad and diverse background that includes the public sector is preferred.
The County will consider a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field and six years of progressively responsible experience in the supervision and administration of a large enterprise computing environment with a least four years in a management capacity. The CIO provides leadership to six direct reports including the Deputy CIO, Enterprise Systems Division Manager, Infrastructure and Operations Division Manager, Information Security Officer, Service IT Architect and Project Management and Administration Division Manager. This position develops departmental goals and objectives and effectively collaborates with the ITS leadership team to develop work plans, assign activities and monitor the progress of projects and initiatives including those by outsourced service providers. This position contributes to building a human-centered organization that supports the health, safety, effectiveness and creativity of employees.

Qualifications
Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the supervision and administration of a large enterprise computing environment with a least four years in a management capacity. Prior experience driving change and transformation with a focus on modernizing technology is ideal. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning specific to information technology and services is essential as is advanced knowledge of modern IT practices, operations and security procedures. Strong fiscal management coupled with project management and program planning experience are required. The ability to exercise professional judgment and apply it to complex, multi-disciplinary and sensitive issues is essential. An interest in public service coupled with a broad and diverse background that includes the public sector is preferred.
The County will consider a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field and six years of progressively responsible experience in the supervision and administration of a large enterprise computing environment with a least four years in a management capacity. Portland Japanese Garden – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Portland, Oregon – is hiring for a Director of Human Resources (HR). The Director of HR is responsible for overseeing all HR functions of the organization, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, termination, compensation, benefits, and payroll. This role supports a current staff size of about 130 employees, across multiple campuses. The Director of HR will initially be located at our remote office, just off the Sylvan exit of Highway 26, and may choose to work remotely up to two days per week. Primary Duties
Lead key HR initiatives, including HR policies, recruitment, hiring, orientation, compensation analysis, talent development, and employee relations

Portland Japanese Garden – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Portland, Oregon – is hiring for a Director of Human Resources (HR). The Director of HR is responsible for overseeing all HR functions of the organization, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, termination, compensation, benefits, and payroll. This role supports a current staff size of about 130 employees, across multiple campuses. The Director of HR is also responsible for overseeing the Human Resources Assistant, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Director of HR will initially be located at our remote office, just off the Sylvan exit of Highway 26, and may choose to work remotely up to two days per week. Upon completion of the Institute campus (2025), located approximately 3 miles from Portland Japanese Garden, the Director’s office is anticipated to relocate to the Institute campus. Travel to and from PJG’s primary campus in Washington Park, and its soon-to-be-developed secondary campus in NW Portland, is expected.

Primary Duties
Lead key HR initiatives, including HR policies, recruitment, hiring, orientation, compensation analysis, talent development, and employee relations
Collaborate with Executive Team, by virtue of quarterly meetings, to understand the organization’s goals and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, performance management, and retention
Provide initial and ongoing training to managers relating to performance management of their staff and disciplinary matters, including proper documentation
Work with and advise managers on effective ways to motivate employees, communicate performance expectations, discuss employee performance, and recognize exemplary work
Actively promote an inclusive and equitable work environment, participate in the organization’s DEI committee, and propose policies and practices that support the organization’s DEI efforts
With assistance from the HR Assistant, oversee all aspects of the hiring and onboarding process, including conducting interviews and new-hire orientations
Direct employee concerns to appropriate responders in the organization, ensure these concerns or complaints have been appropriately addressed and documented, and all necessary follow-up has been completed
Work with insurance broker annually to negotiate renewal rates, and oversee benefits eligibility and enrollments, both during the annual open enrollment period, and as necessary for new hires
Oversee all benefit enrollments and related, which are processed by the HR Assistant
Process semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely submission (we currently use Paychex)
Serve as back-up for entering payroll, when HR Assistant is out on PTO
Provide ongoing training around company policies and procedures to staff
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to advocate for changes in policy, practice, and resources to the Executive Team
Ensure the Employee Handbook and internal forms are updated and consistent with current federal and state employment laws
Track leaves of absence and ensure compliance with all leave laws – including FMLA, OFLA, and ADA – and obtain and verify supporting medical paperwork and information
Process unemployment claims, and attend administrative hearings as needed
Conduct exit interviews and oversee the completion of termination checklists
Oversee the maintenance and organization of personnel files
Lead or facilitate Staff Hospitality Committee to plan staff events and parties
Develop and oversee budget for HR Department
Supervise and support the HR Assistant

The Specialist, Communication is responsible for managing the communication, web, and social media platforms for the Office of the President ensuring the highest standards. This position manages incoming inquiries, comments, and concerns and writes emails, letters, and other tailored correspondence in response. The Director for Student Engagement and Leadership is a full-time, year-round position, starting at $68,905 per year - commensurate with experience. Given Amherst's distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community.
Reporting to the Chief Student Affairs Officer and Dean of Students (CSAO/DOS), the Director for Student Engagement and Leadership will oversee the Student Engagement and Leadership Office and supervise a diverse team of professional and student staff within the Office of Student Affairs at Amherst College. Including the associate director for engagement and leadership, assistant director for student engagement and leadership, orientation and new student coordinator and the office manager. The Director will make strategic decisions and steward a vision and resources in ways that further Amherst College's commitment to providing all students with a transformative and unparalleled experience. The director oversees departmental operating accounts totaling over $350,000 and the AAS's account totaling over $1.2 million in student fees annually.
They will imagine and execute on new possibilities for student engagement and community building, service, student leadership, and develop systemic ways to develop, implement and assess successful student-centered policies, practices, and initiatives. The director is responsible for ensuring that the office creates programs and productions that build community, foster a sense of belonging, center wellbeing, and facilitate campus-wide discourse via organizational and leadership programs, the arts and multiple student media publications and platforms. The director is responsible for oversight of a diverse and exciting assemblage of programs, services, and spaces. Including the Keefe Campus Center, New Student Orientation, serves as the direct advisor to the Association of Amherst Students (AAS), WAMH 89.3 FM radio station, Olio yearbook, Amherst Student Newspaper, and Campus Activities Board. Additionally, supports, advises, and provides training and leadership development for a diverse group of student leaders and over 100 student groups. Job Description:
Amherst College invites applications for the Director for Student Engagement and Leadership position. The Director for Student Engagement and Leadership is a full-time, year-round position, starting at $68,905 per year - commensurate with experience. Given Amherst's distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community.
Reporting to the Chief Student Affairs Officer and Dean of Students (CSAO/DOS), the Director for Student Engagement and Leadership will oversee the Student Engagement and Leadership Office and supervise a diverse team of professional and student staff within the Office of Student Affairs at Amherst College. Including the associate director for engagement and leadership, assistant director for student engagement and leadership, orientation and new student coordinator and the office manager. The Director will make strategic decisions and steward a vision and resources in ways that further Amherst College's commitment to providing all students with a transformative and unparalleled experience. The director oversees departmental operating accounts totaling over $350,000 and the AAS's account totaling over $1.2 million in student fees annually.
They will imagine and execute on new possibilities for student engagement and community building, service, student leadership, and develop systemic ways to develop, implement and assess successful student-centered policies, practices, and initiatives. The director is responsible for ensuring that the office creates programs and productions that build community, foster a sense of belonging, center wellbeing, and facilitate campus-wide discourse via organizational and leadership programs, the arts and multiple student media publications and platforms. The director is responsible for oversight of a diverse and exciting assemblage of programs, services, and spaces. Including the Keefe Campus Center, New Student Orientation, serves as the direct advisor to the Association of Amherst Students (AAS), WAMH 89.3 FM radio station, Olio yearbook, Amherst Student Newspaper, and Campus Activities Board. Additionally, supports, advises, and provides training and leadership development for a diverse group of student leaders and over 100 student groups. This position will serve as a key collaborator with a broad range of College offices.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
• Manages the day-to-day operations of the Student Engagement and Leadership Office.
• Develops and implements the overall strategic vision of the office.
• Hires, on-boards, and supervises the team of professional and student staff that work for the office.
• Provides oversight, strategic guidance, and support to a dynamic team of professional and student staff that see organizations as transformative learning environments vital to the educational mission of the College, and offer students opportunities to engage as leaders that make a difference.
• Initiates all aspects of organizational planning for the Student Engagement & Leadership Office in concert with Student Affairs.
• Serves as a campus leader and subject matter expert regarding topics of student engagement, student activism, student leaders/organizations, campus climate and protest response, and regularly provides consultation and guidance related to issues management on these topics.
• Conducts organizational design analysis and planning to optimize individual and organizational effectiveness and develops staff training and development programs.
• Oversee the operating budget for the Student Engagement and Leadership Office, the allocation and spending of the Student Activities Fee, Keefe Campus Center and Powerhouse operating budgets, and other gifts or endowments specific to Student Engagement and Leadership.
• Create long- and short-term plans and evaluation of student engagement strategies and programs
Student Organization Engagement and Leadership
• Establishes effective working relationships with individuals and departments to facilitate the dissemination of information and promote supportive and helpful relationships with students, staff, and faculty, while recognizing the need for sensitivity to a diverse student population.
• Develops and executes on innovative and creative ideas to promote and support leadership engagement, student development, and sense of belonging amongst the student body.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with students, student leaders, student activists and student organizations, and contributes to a vibrant and welcoming campus experience for all students by being involved, visible, and engaged in all aspects of campus and student life.
• Centers equity, access, and inclusion frameworks in all student programming and engagement efforts.
• Continually assesses student needs and interests, as well as remains abreast of current trends and best practices in the field of student affairs (and adjacent fields) related to student leadership, engagement, identity development, civic engagement, mental health/wellbeing and sense of belonging.
• Utilizes relevant data, scholarship, and student development (and other relevant) theories/models when planning and developing programs and services designed to foster and support student learning and growth.
• Maintains high level oversight of all training, advising, support with event planning, fiscal resources, budget planning, policy analysis and administrative support for the various organizations and spaces within the office.
Program Planning and Campus Partner Collaboration
• Develops and implements systems of assessing the quality and effectiveness of all programs and establishes ongoing quality improvement methods.
• Creates and implements systems to improve quality and manage risk, including staff professional development programs, regular assessments of student satisfaction, and methods for engaging with students about campus climate and the student experience.
• Leads internal and external committees and task forces related to special projects/initiatives focused on student leadership, engagement and belonging.
• Serves as campus lead for protest and demonstration engagement and response.
• Prepares reports, presentations and other related materials for CSAO/DOS and campus stakeholders.
• Represents the Student Engagement and Leadership office and the Division of Student Affairs on key campus, system-wide and external committees and task forces.
• Collaborate with the College's Conferences and Special Events office to maintain student-centered space usage and scheduling policies for student programming and event spaces
• Oversight over reservable spaces utilizing the EMS scheduling software. Including the Keefe Campus Center, Powerhouse, Fire Pits, etc.
• Provides oversight and ensures programming is in place for summer, holiday, winter/J-term breaks.
Qualifications:
Required
• Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, public administration/policy or related field.
• Highly experienced in the areas of strategic planning, organizational development, assessment, and evaluation in advancement of organizational goals within a complex institution of higher education.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, problems, and processes in an objective manner and formulate conclusions to provide a sound basis for establishing priorities, selecting appropriate courses of action, and making recommendations.
• A high degree of political acumen regarding sensitive and highly visibility issues; ability to establish and manage delicate balances that must be achieved among competing variables and interests in a diverse, and complex university environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, and developing professional staff, including skills related to team building, coaching and performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and develop trust with college students, student leaders, student activists and student organizations.
• Knowledge and applied praxis of effective models/philosophies in higher education and student affairs, and of student development theories related to leadership and engagement; sense of belonging; free speech expression; protest and demonstration response; and issues of diversity, equity and social justice.
• Excellent interpersonal, cultural fluency and conflict resolution skills. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and information.
• High level of acumen related to understanding, interpreting, and applying College regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to deliver clear, informative, and persuasive presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong oral communication skills with ability to work effectively in group processes. Excellent writing skills to produce clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, and general correspondence, as well as to convey support and care in the wake of campus, local, national, or global incidents that impact students and the campus community.
• Experience with fiscal management, budget development and oversight of multiple fund sources, including student fees and referenda.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, commitment to, and experience working with, members of African, Black & Caribbean; Asian, Asian American & Pacific Islander; Chicanx/Latinx; Native/Indigenous; South West Asian & North African; Disabled; Neuro Diverse; Trans & Non-Binary; Queer; Undocumented and other historically marginalized or underrepresented communities.
Preferred
• 8-10 years of experience in student affairs work, student leadership development, and or student activities/engagement.
• Demonstrated expertise with crisis management, crisis intervention and case management on college campuses.
