Job Description
The Sanford Center for Aging at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine invites applications for the role of Program Coordinator, Senior Outreach Services (SOS). This grant-funded program is part of Community Services and provides volunteer-based companionship to Washoe County elders living at home who are lonely, isolated and looking for a friend. The SOS Coordinator will prioritize client and volunteer service and identify community resources to address client needs; administer in-home client assessments; assist the Director to identify and implement quality improvements; successfully match clients with trained volunteers; conduct outreach to targeted populations; measure, analyze and report on grant output goals; and maintain accurate client and volunteer data. This position reports to the Director of Community Services.
At the Sanford Center for Aging, we are committed to dispelling ageism and providing compassionate care and service to our community's older adult population. The ideal candidate in this role will share our mission to serve, and demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and active listening communication skills, management of distinct priorities on differing timelines, adaptability and an eye for detail and organization. An enthusiasm for outreach, relationship building, forging personal connections with clients and volunteers, and engaging with a variety of audiences will contribute to success in the role. A strong sense of self and respect for the boundaries and abilities of others are key.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two years of related professional experience OR
Master's Degree and one year of related professional work experience
Related Experience: Working with older adults in home settings
Certification and Licensure: Nevada Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in social work, human services, public health or related field • Experience working with/managing volunteers • Experience administering needs assessments • Experience connecting individuals with community resources

Departmental Overview
The California Policy Lab (CPL) generates research insights for government impact. Through hands-on partnerships with government agencies, CPL performs rigorous research across issue silos and builds the data infrastructure necessary to improve programs and policies that millions of Californians rely on every day. We work on California's most urgent issues, including homelessness, poverty, criminal justice reform, and education inequality. We facilitate close working partnerships between policymakers and researchers at the University of California to help evaluate and improve public programs through rigorous empirical research and technical assistance. CPL recognizes the value of having a diverse staff at all levels of the organization.
CPL is a center within the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE).
The Research Assistant/Associate is a critical member of CPL research teams working on policy issues such as criminal justice, education, employment, health, and the social safety net. The Research Assistant/Associate will apply a variety of data analysis and statistical modeling approaches to large datasets in real-world settings. They will collect and clean and prepare data for analysis, collaborate in research design and model development, and implement studies via advanced data analysis, all while working on multiple research projects concurrently. Specifically, the Research Assistant/Associate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing large administrative datasets; helping to design and implement rigorous research designs, including randomized control trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental studies; preparing graphs, tables, and other displays of research results; preparing reports and presentations; and developing other policy-relevant deliverables. The Research Assistant/Associate will contribute to a growing practice of advanced analytical solutions to provide data-driven research and technical assistance to governmental partners. We seek applicants who are confident bridging the gap between academic researchers and government policymakers, and who want to carry out joint research agendas with CPL partners.
We may potentially be hiring more than one Research Assistant/Associate, and value applicants with experience analyzing administrative data in one or more of the policy areas we focus on. The California Policy Lab (CPL) generates research insights for government impact. Through hands-on partnerships with government agencies, CPL performs rigorous research across issue silos and builds the data infrastructure necessary to improve programs and policies that millions of Californians rely on every day. We work on California's most urgent issues, including homelessness, poverty, criminal justice reform, and education inequality. PSH has a diverse patient population dispersed throughout its 28-county catchment area, which comprises four million people and several federally-designated, medically-underserved areas, including Appalachia. Recent community health needs assessments have identified substance use disorders, mental health, pain and health disparities as priority issues. Fellows will partner with the Penn State faculty across the University's several campuses to help address these health issues, especially as they affect underserved, underrepresented populations.

The Development Director will lead the Lab's development efforts, securing philanthropic support to fund the Lab's operations across both the UC Berkeley and UCLA headquarters, with fundraising also supporting research on other campuses across the UC system. They will report to the Executive Directors of each site at UCLA and UC Berkeley and will occasionally interact with faculty, researchers, and staff across the UC system, and coordinate with gift officers in other campus units as needed.

• Analyzes needs and assists in the creation of strategic plans for fundraising and other advancement programs. • Develops and manages a dynamic portfolio to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects. The entire budget for the Lab is $6-8 million annually and is raised through multiple channels including foundations, government support, and university support. • Writes proposals for solicitation of foundation, government, and/or state prospects and manages the submission process, including drafting portions of the narratives and collecting together all other relevant materials. • Supports research staff in the writing and submission of foundation- and government-based grants and ensures timely submission. • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards foundation, government, and/or state prospects. • Initiates prospect research to find new foundations and high-capacity individual donors. • Develops strategies for prospects and executes them with substantial autonomy. • Maintains ongoing communication with funders, informing them of our work and seeking to develop closer engagement with the Lab. • Organizes and implements large-scale fundraising strategies, including marketing and communications initiatives designed to attract new funding. For example, plans the annual advisory board meetings and plans and hosts various events that have a fundraising focus. • Develops materials that showcase our work for different audiences and strategically works to get them in the hands of potential funders. • Works with other CPL staff to ensure foundation presence at larger, research-focused conferences and convenings. • Serves as the lead development professional for all CPL proposals. • Develops reports and communications for funders, including foundations. These include narrative reports on the Lab's growth and development. • Works with the Executive and Faculty Directors to ensure that predetermined fundraising goals are met. • Monitors these goals and proposes ideas for new sources of funding, but is not solely responsible for raising this amount (that falls to the Executive Directors). • Ensures timely gift processing, reporting, and acknowledgements.

Learners range from elementary school students using haiku to express their thoughts and dreams, to general garden novice enthusiasts, to accomplished garden professionals and researchers. Workshops, themed tours, school programs, lectures, and professional-level programs including seminars and intensives take place at the Garden and offsite venues.
The Training Center Director (TC Director) reports to and assists the Arlene Schnitzer Curator of Culture, Art, and Education (Curator of CAE) in ensuring that the overall TC programmatic direction is aligned with the larger organizational mission and goals. The TC Director delivers this through creating curriculums for the TC and its programs in conjunction with the Garden Curator, while providing oversight for each of the activities/programs. These programs are expected to meet TC’s core standards and values and respond to the learning needs of a variety of participants from diverse backgrounds . The TC Director currently supervises a team of two, consisting of a Program Manager and Program Assistant.
The TC Director will initially be located at our remote office, just off the Sylvan exit of Highway 26, with the possibility to work remotely up to two days per week . Upon completion of the Institute campus (2025), located approximately 3 miles from Portland Japanese Garden, the TC Director’s office is anticipated to relocate to the Institute campus. Travel to and from PJG’s primary campus in Washington Park, and its soon-to-be-developed secondary campus in NW Portland, is expected.

Primary Duties
Programmatic planning and curriculum development
In collaboration with the Garden Curator and Curator of CAE, plan TC’s year-to-year program schedule, with attention to scheduling, target audiences, programming by other departments, facility and resource availability and budget
Take a proactive role in identifying, proposing, and building collaborative and strategic partnerships with a wide range of individuals, organizations, local community groups, and national and international organizations relating to landscape architecture, Japanese gardens, and related arts
Create, carry out, evaluate, and, on an ongoing basis, refine curriculum structure and teaching materials for existing programs
Curate, organize, and present a themed public speaker series, collaborating with other departments on theme and focus as appropriate
Develop, implement, and continually refine and monitor accreditation, certification, and evaluation procedures with targeted professional associations for professional-level educational programs in the US and Japan
Work cooperatively and proactively with the Development department to help identify and solicit appropriate funding sources and, in collaboration with the Grants Administrator, work with other relevant departments to ensure that grants are correctly used and tracked
Procure, manage quality control, and supervise the work of outside contractors including educators, videographers, curriculum writers, and others as needed to support programs
The TC Director occasionally travels to Japan and elsewhere in the US to research programmatic possibilities and network with other cultural/academic/landscape professionals and other key partners to explore collaborative project possibilities through partnerships
Training facility maintenance/development
In collaboration with the Garden Curator and Curator of CAE, devise plans to maintain and refine the current TC facilities, both on-site and off-site, while identifying and developing new facilities according to TC and its participants’ growing needs
Provide assistance and advice on ways in which the new Japan Institute campus can better serve TC’s programmatic activities and the community at large
Outreach and communication
Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop and implement marketing strategies and communications materials for target audiences
Represent TC through outreach at events in the wider professional community to propagate TC’s mission and build a robust network while recruiting quality students
Produce monthly content for promoting TC’s programs through the Garden’s media channels including newsletter, magazine, website, and others
Supervise and manage the Program Manager and Assistant
Create, manage and track annual budgets and projected revenue and expenses.

In collaboration with the Garden Curator and Curator of CAE, plan TC’s year-to-year program schedule, with attention to scheduling, target audiences, programming by other departments, facility and resource availability and budget
Take a proactive role in identifying, proposing, and building collaborative and strategic partnerships with a wide range of individuals, organizations, local community groups, and national and international organizations relating to landscape architecture, Japanese gardens, and related arts
Create, carry out, evaluate, and, on an ongoing basis, refine curriculum structure and teaching materials for existing programs
Curate, organize, and present a themed public speaker series, collaborating with other departments on theme and focus as appropriate
Develop, implement, and continually refine and monitor accreditation, certification, and evaluation procedures with targeted professional associations for professional-level educational programs in the US and Japan
Work cooperatively and proactively with the Development department to help identify and solicit appropriate funding sources and, in collaboration with the Grants Administrator, work with other relevant departments to ensure that grants are correctly used and tracked
Procure, manage quality control, and supervise the work of outside contractors including educators, videographers, curriculum writers, and others as needed to support programs
The TC Director occasionally travels to Japan and elsewhere in the US to research programmatic possibilities and network with other cultural/academic/landscape professionals and other key partners to explore collaborative project possibilities through partnerships
Training facility maintenance/development
In collaboration with the Garden Curator and Curator of CAE, devise plans to maintain and refine the current TC facilities, both on-site and off-site, while identifying and developing new facilities according to TC and its participants’ growing needs
Provide assistance and advice on ways in which the new Japan Institute campus can better serve TC’s programmatic activities and the community at large
Outreach and communication
Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop and implement marketing strategies and communications materials for target audiences
Represent TC through outreach at events in the wider professional community to propagate TC’s mission and build a robust network while recruiting quality students
Produce monthly content for promoting TC’s programs through the Garden’s media channels including newsletter, magazine, website, and others
Supervise and manage the Program Manager and Assistant
Create, manage and track annual budgets and projected revenue and expenses.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000/year

The Specialist, Communication is responsible for managing the communication, web, and social media platforms for the Office of the President ensuring the highest standards. The Executive Director oversees the operations of QB3 programs within the Baskin School of Engineering at UCSC and has a key role in formulating and implementing short- and long-term plans for QB3 programs and events. Position Summary
The Executive Assistant to the Deans is a key administrative role within the College of Education's Faculty and Staff Services Office / Office of the Dean. The position provides executive-level administrative support to the Assistant and Associate Deans. The Executive Assistant must have the ability to work independently, anticipate problems, and maintain confidentiality in all matters.
This position has a broad set of responsibilities related to the duties of the executive leadership of the College of Education including serving as the primary contact for all matters related to the Assistant/Associate Deans schedules and activities, drafting and editing correspondence, arranging travel, and working closely with the Faculty and Staff Services Office / Office of the Dean staff and campus partners to support the college's Initiatives.
The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support, is essential in this position. Members of the Faculty and Student Services Office approach their work with a high level of professionalism and a customer service orientation. The office is a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
This position will also be required to assist with approximately six meetings a year that are in the evenings.
The Executive Assistant is supervised by the Assistant Dean for Administration, Equity and Inclusion.
Minimum Requirements
• One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs. Qualifying experience would involve data collection and analysis; project evaluation and/or analysis; interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations; or similar experience.
Professional Competencies
• Ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively (in writing, in person, on the phone) with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to show initiative and confidence in making independent decisions; knowing when and to whom to refer a wide range of problems and inquiries.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, precise and thorough while processing administrative data.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy (maintaining confidentiality when necessary).
• Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Proactive customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proofreading/editing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in an institution of higher education.
• Experience using UO Curriculum and Assessment Systems: UO Banner database, or similar CRM databases; Courseleaf or similar; Tk20 or similar.
• Experience with web publishing.
• Experience providing executive support including calendaring and scheduling for an executive, director, or dean.
