Network Communications Projects Engineer

The Office of Information Technologies at University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks to hire a Network Communications Projects Engineer. The Network Communications Projects Engineer has responsibility for all inside and outside networking cable plant including both twisted copper pair and fiber-optic cable as well as pathway (conduit, duct-bank, etc.). The Network Communications Projects Engineer is responsible for project management, estimating, design, preparation of drawings, specifications and contract documents for networking and IT projects as well as oversight of outside IT designers used by Design and Construction Management and other departments. S/He will work with the Network Communications team overseeing move, add and change work for networks on campus as well as emergency cable repairs as part of the engineering team.
