Stafford Bandlow Engineering, Inc. (SBE) is a professional consulting and design firm specializing in electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems for movable bridges and heavy movable structures (see www.sbengineering.net). Our 25-person, in-house staff consists of engineers and administrative personnel. This position will join our administrative team in support of business operations and report directly to the Office Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum education - high school diploma/ college degree not required
  • The ideal candidate will have –
  • Several years of professional experience in a similar role
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses the necessary interpersonal skills to successfully interact with staff and clients
  • Technical skills –
  • Microsoft Office Suite (MS WORD, Excel, Outlook)
  • Time and billing software (Time Slips a plus)
  • QuickBooks

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Bookkeeping –
  • Accounting entry – monthly and quarterly
  • General ledger maintenance
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit card and ACH reconciliation for A/R and A/P
  • Month-end closings and reports
  • Expense reports and billing
  • General bookkeeping, collections and interfacing with accountants and auditors
  • Accounts receivable – invoicing
  • Payroll management
  • Office Assistant –
  • General office administration
  • Answering phones and taking messages as needed
  • Clerical work
  • Preparing Excel spreadsheets and WORD documents

Requirements

  • Candidate will be asked to participate in a multi-step interview process
  • Candidate will be asked to provide professional references
  • Candidate will be asked to participate in skills testing
  • Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Candidate will be asked to participate in Criminal Background Screening, Drug & Alcohol Testing

Employment Type

Part-Time/Temporary with the possibility of Part-Time/Permanent

Salary/Hours

$20-$30 per hour commensurate with experience

Approximately 20 hours/week with generally flexible hours/days during normal work week

All working hours are conducted in our office facilities
