The City of Portland is currently seeking a NW Parking District Liaison to join the Parking Operations Division within the Portland Bureau of Transportation.  This position will join the Parking Policy and Projects Section and be the primary contact for parking and transportation items related to the Northwest (NW) Parking District. 

Duties will include but aren't limited to:

  • Implementing the recommendations made by the NW Parking District Stakeholder Advisory Committee in the established meter and permit district as related to on-street parking operations, area permit program, transportation demand management and the implementation of shared parking and other programs as developed.
  • Coordinating with City Bureaus, outside agencies and consultants in the on-going management of the NW Parking District. 
  • Assisting with the implementation of Shared Parking and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) measures to reduce parking demand in the public right-of-way, and will conduct outreach to area businesses, property owners, institutions, and multi-family building managers and tenants.
  • Organizing, compiling, and documenting program information in memos, reports and presentations, prepare presentation materials and present findings to internal staff, external stakeholders and other appropriate audiences. 

An ideal candidate will have experience and expertise coordinating and integrating the interests of multiple stakeholder groups which may have conflicting interests.   They are comfortable working independently and are able to take the initiative..  To effectively complete outreach tasks this position is expected that the selected candidate will spend a significant amount of time in the District.
